(Photos made with my Ricoh RDC-7)

In Winter it is cold so
we shoot through windows .

(Yes, it may happen that someone forgets to lower
the windows and shoots through the glass...)

Normally we stay still while shooting but
at the New Year's Tournament we do
some funny things like simulating shooting
from a moving horse which is simulated
with this thing with wheels.

(Those who manage to get the horse runing and shoot while
moving get 5 points even if they do not hit the target)

To the left you see the Azuchi,  where
the "real" targets are placed.
The distance from where the photo was taken (28 meters)
is exactly the distance from where we shoot!...

To the right you see the practice
targets (Makiwara).
Here you learn
to use the bow, practice and shoot

from a 3 m distance

The normal targets (Mato) have a breadth of 30 cm...
